Framework Directive, introduces a new vision in water policy for the Member States of the European Union. In it, these States are required that, in 2015, all their waters have a good ecological and chemical status. This means that the concept of water quality is going to have the resource itself as a point of reference and not, as was customary, the uses to which it will be put. This has meant a very important change in the concepts and criteria used in water planning and introduces the quality and protection of the water resource as a determining factor in structuring hydrological planning. However, the Country Email List problem that causes the quality of water treatment in Spain to be inadequate is not in the infrastructures or in the technology, but rather in the cost of maintaining. The treatment plants and in the fact that not all City councils have adequate financing to deal with it, which causes stoppages and intermittences in some of them. Although this is not the only problem. Sometimes, the infrastructures are many years old and have become obsolete or are poorly dimensioned, but the investment that must be made to bring them up to date is unfeasible.
